Ekpo Okon flaws sitting Senator Gershom Bassey in a show of strength

| 16 June 2018 | Ukorebi Esien

According to results obtained from an online poll conducted by the publisher of The Warden an online news platform, Mr. Ekeng Inyang, the senator Representing Cross River State Southern Senatorial district in the red chambers, Sen. Gershom Bassey was flawlessly beaten by a onetime Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state chairman, Ntufam Ekpo Okon who is being rumored to be interested in the Federal Job.

Results obtained from the poll shows that Ntufam Okon handed Sen. Bassey the merciless defeat by clinching 82% of the total votes cast, while Sen. Bassey went home with 18% of the votes cast.

According to Mr.  Inyang, ‘However, this isn't a determinant of one's popularity or a representation of the masses mandate because it must take voters who are eligible and registered with PVCs to make that call.
Also understanding clearly the peculiarity of party politics of the PDP where the most credible is often times NOT selected for whatever reasons best known to them.
The prerogative as to who gets selected lies just within the hands of very few elites who then channeled the command to field agents to deliver on their decision with an open display of deceit to the general public’.

Mr. Inyang also believes Ntufam Ekpo Okon’s victory at the poll was a show of strength over Senator Gershom Bassey.

C'River State Youths Petitions Gov. Ayade for Proposing a New Logo/Brand for the State
|Ukorebi Esien|20th May, 2017|

Concerned youths in Cross River state have petitioned the state governor Prof. Benedict Ayade for proposing to change the state's logo.

Cross Riverians woke up Saturday morning to the notification that their beloved and adored state logo/brand that was designed and unveiled during the Donald Duke's administration will no more be.

Come 27th of May, 2017, the state's brilliant Blue and white dolphin like logo/brand christened "Destination Cross River" will be replaced with a new logo/ that carries a Charging Bull encircled by 18 stars to represent the LGA's in Cross River State, all merged in a red background. The new logo is christened "The Spirit of Enterprise".

TDN learnt the new logo/brand will be unveiled on the May 27th during the Cross River at 50 celebration. The new brand is expected to throw the state in a new light of entrepreneurship, shifting the state from a civil service oriented state.

Surprisingly, Cross Riverians took to their social media handle especially face book to kick against the new logo.

As a way of demonstrating their disapproval of the new logo, an online petition have been released with the goal of raising one thousand signatures against the Ben Ayade's visionless government.
