Recently many persons from the entertainment industry in Nigeria seems to choose to go religious with statement concerning answering the call of God or becoming clergies. 

If first started with Yul Edochie who said in a viral video circulating on social media that he has chosen to answer the call as a minister of God. 

"It's Time I Accept My Caling As A Minister Of God." He said. 

Yul Edochie stirred reactions online after he announced and accepted his calling as a minister of God.

In a video, Yul shared how he became more convinced about his calling, adding that he would be using the remaining of his life to achieve it.

Someone said: "What will your ministry be called? It's really good to accept God's calling."

Some of his strongest critics are hiting on his rumored polygamous status, questioning if that's accepted by God. 

Not long after the viral video of Yul's video, is yet another one from our very dear Tonto Dikeh who also said she has a pastoral calling. 

"I was supposed to be a pastor," says Tonto Dikeh

She revealed this while speaking with media personality, Chude Jideonwo on the latest episode of 'WithChude' podcast.

The running mate to Tonte Ibraye, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers state Dikeh explained she has always desired to be a pastor.

The 37-year-old, who recently announced that she was officially 'kissing acting good bye', stated the profession alongside entertainment as a whole was basically opportunity-based.

On the pastoral calling, the mother of one noted she may yet embrace it 'depending on where God wants to take her'.

"I'm an opportunist with this thing called acting or entertainment. But for God, He has ordained that step already. For me, I was just swimming in a swimming pool," she said.

"I mean, I was a church girl going to be a pastor. I was supposed to be a pastor, I still might be. Depending on where God is taking me to."

BREAKING: Police arrest all Davido’s domestic staff over son’s death

Barely 24 hours after the news of the death of Davido's son, Ifeanyi, TDN has it in good authority that the Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that all members of the singer's domestic staff are currently in its custody.

The command's spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed this to reporters on Tuesday morning after report of Ifeanyi's death went viral.

TDN had reported that the tragic event occurred while Davido and his fiance, Chioma Rowland were away from the house when the boy drowned in a pool at his father's house in Banana Island on Monday.

Speaking on the unfortunate incident, the Lagos PPRO said preliminary investigation is currently ongoing to unravel what led to the boy's death.

He said, "Domestic staff at Davido'a home have been taken to the station to give their own account of what happened. I wouldn't call that arrest yet.

"If after they all give their own account of what happened and after preliminary investigations, if anyone of them is found culpable, the person will now be placed under arrest".

Confirm, Davido and Chioma's son, Ifaenyi is dead

Nigerian Singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has lost Ifeanyi, his first son with his fiancee, Chioma Rowland.

The development, which has been kept under wraps, occurred shortly after his grand third birthday party on October 20, 2022.

The death of Ifeanyi was confirmed by several prominent entertainers in veiled posts, allegedly starting with Eniola Badmus.

Others who did were comedian AY and Daddy Freeze.

Sources said Ifeanyi died in the family's swimming pool in their Banana Island, Lagos State home.

On discovering that three-year-old Ifeanyi was in the pool unconscious, he was said to have been rushed to Lagoon Hospital, Lagos Island, where he was confirmed dead.

Before then, Davido had been seen in videos teaching him how to swim.

Davido made his flap his legs among other swimming instructions and lessons he gave him.

In the end, he concluded: "This one go learn quick."

However, since the news of Ifeanyi's rumored death became public knowledge, Nigerians, particularly entertainment lovers, had been outraged and traumatised by the development.

A number of celebrities,  have posted cryptic messages that appear to confirm the death of Ifeanyi. Some of which are comedians Ayo Makun and Lasisi Elenu, radio personality Daddy Freeze among others.

Makun, in an Instagram post early Tuesday, wrote, "The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad."

Daddy Freeze, who went live on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning said, "When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight."

Lasisi Elenu also posted, "Father heal your children's heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord."

Reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape, said on her Instagram story, "My heart can't take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss."

As of 1.28am, news of Ifeanyi's rumored death was the most trending topic on Twitter.

The rumored death, however, emanated from a now deleted post from actress, Eniola Badmus, late Monday.

Nigerians, while reacting to Badmus' post, criticised her for leaking such sensitive information to the public.

Drama as bridegroom walks out of engagement ceremony in Owerri due to extortion.

He paid N1,500,000 to cater for food, tents, chairs and a public address system.

Nigerian reggae legend, Ras Kimono passes on at 60

Nigerian reggae icon, Ras Kimono, has died, sources close to the musician said, according to multiple reports on Sunday. He was 60 years old.

The online news platform, Q.ED said Kimono was said to have taken ill on Saturday on his way to the US.

Friends rushed him to a hospital in Ikeja from where he was transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Ikoyi.

He died on Sunday morning.

According to several biographical sketches, Kimono served a long apprenticeship on the Nigerian music circuit, experimenting with a number of styles, before making his late 80s breakthrough as a reggae singer.

Together with his Massive Dread Reggae Band, Kimono released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 1989. Accompanied by the popular single, “Rum-Bar Stylee”, this revealed both a Jamaican and native African influence.

Before he released his solo album, he was in a group called The Jastix along with Amos McRoy and Majek Fashek.

Born in Delta State, Nigeria, he went to  Gbenoba Secondary School, Agbor and later joined the legendary Jastix Reggae group, alongside Majek Fashek, Amos McRoy Jegg and Black Rice Osagie.

He won several awards including the Nigeria Music Awards, Fame Music Awards and many more.

Love Story: Lady turns down proposal of man who donated his kidney to her after 20 years of relationship

Simon Loius and Mary Emmanuelle had been dating for over 20 years, during this period, Mary fell sick and needed a kidney transfer, out of love, Simon donated his kidney for Mary to survive.

After donating his kidney to the love of his life, Mary Emmanuelle, of course Simon Louis was the happiest man when she survived it.

He had thought the best thing for him to do after both of them survived the operation was to pop the question after she was nursed back to health.  

Alas, Mary turned down Simon’s proposal despite having being together for over two decades and like matured people, they both agreed to remain best friends.

Simon, 49, said: “I offered her my heart but I had to settle for giving her my kidney. Whatever happens, I’ll never regret giving her the gift of life.” And Mary, 41, claimed: “He is my very best friend and always will be. The love between us is real. He could have died doing what he did for me.”

Speaking further on why she turned down his proposal, Mary said: “I felt incredibly flattered that he should want to marry me after seeing me at my absolute worst. But I let him down gently by saying I’d have to think about it. I think I’d worry if we got married it would in some way damage our special friendship and also I don’t want to get wed until I’m fully better health-wise.”

Finally, Iyanya the Calabar born music king has confirmed that he is no longer with Don Jazzy’s Mavin record.

Recall that rumours had it that in less than one year after he was unveiled as a Mavin record artiste,  Iyanya had wanted to leave.

While featuring as a guest on Beat FM, Inyana confirmed the many roumours about his relationship with Marvin Records when he said "I'm now signed to Temple Music but I’m a Mavin for life. It was not a beef. I was there and it was time to move on”. He said.

9ice, Bisola Aiyeola, and DJ Jimmy Jatt are also on Temple Music’s roster.

Temple Music", is owned by Temple Management Company (TMC), and was launched in August 2017.

Iyanya's recent single 'Good Vibes' was released under Temple music.
