Kingsley Ikpeme, Poineer DG of GCCCDA is Plus one Today

The Governor Ben Ayade’s Government in a bid to create jobs as well as creatively engage the youths, appointed thousands of youths into one level of leadership position or the other. With these number of Appointees in government, one can easily get lost in crowd without been noticed while idling about. As true as the above statement may be, there are still few who have decided to distinguished themselves and make their office relevant as well as add value to the society. These few are those who have great dreams not just for themselves but also for the state. And Mr. Kingsley stands tall at the forefront of these class of Appointees.

DG with BabaGani Former Minister of  Information
Today being the first of June happens to be his birthday, therefore, The Daily News (TDN) thought it wise to profile him as one of Calabar finniest DG’s in this Administration.
Comrade kingsley Ita Ikpeme,  a young and dynamic gentleman from the Asang-Eniong Extraction of Odukpani Local Government Area of cross River State. A golden breed, born in the 80’s to the Family of Barr.  Ita Asanye Ikpeme of Asang Eniong and Mrs Alice lta Ikpeme of Esuk Ekpo Eyoh in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, both in Cross river state.

Hardworking DG
Kingsley started his educational journal with the prestigious Charles Walker Nursery school, where he later moved to Children Day care Nursery and primary school calabar. After obtaining his First School Living certificate, he then proceeded to the Famous St. Patricks College Ikot Ansa Calabar where he sat for the West African Senior Secondary school Examinations.

As a bright and intelligent student, Kingsley was appointed a prefect in his secondary school days. As a prefect, he was among the very few senior student who took particular interest about the academic, social and personal well being of junior students. These act indeed endeared him to the heart of both students and the school management.

It was kofi Annan, a Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006 who said “To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go and why you want to get there”.  This indeed is true of Pa King as fondly called by friends, as he has exhibited a very high level of a purpose driven life throughout his leadership sojourn.

As a university undergraduate, in the esteemed university of Calabar, Kingsley demonstrated very high leadership qualities that ended in his handling of very sensitive office in various organizations and associations. I dare to mention but a few of those numerous leadership caps Kingsley wore while in School:

1. Director of Socials - National Association of Cross River State Unical Chapter
2. Chairman Caretaker / Eleco National Association of Odukpani Students worldwide
3.  President National Association of Cross River State Students NACRISS Worldwide
4. 3 times President ST. Patrick's College Calabar Old Boys Association Unical Chapter,
5.  Cross River Representative Nigerian Youth Parliament (Abuja)
6.  Member committee youth in Agriculture

Comrade Kingsley as it were was never found wanting in any of the capacity he found himself leading, he was one unionist who was bold, fearless and result oriented. Little wonder his excellent performance in his present Designation.

during of of his numerous National assignment
In 2016, while handling a national assignment at the Nation’s Capital city Abuja,  Kingsley Ita Ikpeme was Called Upon by the Prof. Ben Ayade’s Led State Government to once again serve the state, but this time around not as a student leader but as the pioneer  Director General Of Greater Calabar Capital City Development Authority. A newly establish Agency saddled with the responsibility of giving the state Capital City a facelift as well as make it an enviable and a friendly city to live and work in. the Agency was also mandated to develop  of new cities  to decongest the already congested Calabar metropolis, regulate  transportation, security and sanitation in the city.

As the Pioneering DG, Kingsley Ita Ikpeme has once again demonstrated that he is wise and skilled as he has, through wide consultations and research made his agency one of the most active. His agency is a recent creation but Ikpeme has given the agency the widest publicity like Prof Dora Akunyikli did for NAFDAC, and we wonder where he gets imprest and subvention from when other Appointees are sitting at their home and lamenting, Greater Calabar is one of the popular and result orientated agency

Kingsley and his heart throb and beloved Wife
Recently Comrade Kingsley Ikpeme intervened in the issue of excess taxation in the state which was becoming a major source of concern to many businesses in Calabar, he had to through his office make sure an illegal daily toll introduced into the daily tickets of motorist was suspended. This and Many more as earned him the name “The working DG.”

Kingsley Catching his Fun
The Kind hearted and fun loving DG will be celebrating his birthday today with the Motherless at the Unwanse Orphanage home by 2pm. According to him, “this will be a continue even after my birthday, it will be a monthly event. Every month I and my family will visit an orphanage home, it’s just my own way of giving back to the society”.

Kingsley Ita Ikpeme who is widely traveled and enjoyed friendship across the Nation is a Christian, a Very social and Hard working DG and is happily married to Mrs. Dominica Ikpeme.
Please let's celebrate this great achiever par- excellence as he celebrates his birthday today, Comrade. Age with Grace.
