YPP takes over YDP secretariat as State chairman resigns in C'River State

The cross river state secretariat of Young Democratic Party YDP has been confiscated by the party’s former leader, Mr. Anthony Bissong Athah and handed over to the newly registered Young Progressive Party.

Members of YDP were locked out of their secretariat yesterday when they held their congress. It was later discovered by the leadership of the party that Mr. Anthony Bissiong Athah had confiscated the state secretariat upon his defection to YPP.

Speaking with NegroidHaven, The state Convention Planning Committee Chairman, Comr. Eteng said 'When I approached Mr Anthony Bissong Attah for the keys to the party secretariat I was informed by him that the property does not belong to YDP anymore'. On his part, Mr Attah disclosed to NegroidHaven this morning via phone call that, 'the property was bought in my name, and now belongs to the YPP'.
Mr. Attah claims that the Secretariat belongs to him thus he has now donated it to YPP.

It will be recall that the former state chairman of the YDP Mr. Castro Ezema had on Sunday 16th July convened a meeting at a printing press where he verbally tendered his resignation from the party.  Also the former leader of the party Mr. Anthony Bissong Attah used the opportunity to resign his membership of the party. This development thus leaves the position of the state chairman and party leader vacant.

The resigning chieftains of the party disclosed to party faithful that they were resigning to take over the leadership of the newly registered Young People’s Party in the state.
Chatting with TDN, Mr. Ezama disclosed that he took a new responsibility as chairman of Young Progressive party, YPP.
