The Finals of Dr. Linda Ayade Essay and Quiz
Competition held on Wednesday, 26th July 2017 with the trio of Gabriel Awhopuye
Inyang, Eniang Eniang and Osim Samuel clinching the prizes.
The event which was witnessed by Dr. Ayade took place at the Conference Room of
the Office of the Wife of the Governor.
The Dr. Linda
Ayade Essay and Quiz Competition which is an initiative of Mediatrix
Development Foundation is aimed at encouraging learning and promoting
leadership amongst pupils and students in Cross River State public schools.
The
competition which started with over 500 participants drawn from the 18 LGAs is
only part of a bigger literary package which will also feature Spelling Bees,
Drama and others.
Speaking on behalf of other winners, Master Gabriel
Awhopuye thanked the Wife of the Governor for the opportunity and pleaded that
more opportunities come up.
Speaking on
behalf of the parents, Hon Chief Eniang Umo appreciated the wife of the
Governor for the initiative while hoping that sports and other arts would also
be introduced. He lauded the transparency of the team that organized the event
which ensured that outstanding children were identified and given the
opportunity for recognition.
