Justin Obongha, media aide to Senator representing Central Senatorial district of Cross River state, Sen. John Owan Enoh has given Commissioners, DG's and other members of Ayade's cabinet a bitter pill to swallow. TDN can say.
He accused majority of Ayade's cabinet members of only being interested in what enters their bank account at the end of the month and not the job they were appointed to do.
The media aide made this statement on his facebook wall while addressing Young leaders shortly after the recently organised Young Emerging Leaders Forum held in Calabar, Thursday, 29th November, 2017
'Some of us as appointees are only interested in what comes in to our bank account at the end of the month not what come out of us that will benefit the state.' He said
The hyper active aide observed that most young appointees were given to fashion instead of paying attention to the reason of their being employed by their principal.
'Our major issue is fashion. An average Cross River State youth values fashion more than work. "Looking good is good business" but not to distract you from what you should have done. When a young man is given any position, he/she becomes a fashionista with minimal regards to the deliverables. Some even forgets their work responsibility and office nomenclature.' Obongha said.
Obongha However, passed some of the blame on Ayade for not adequately engaging his appointees.
According to Obongha, 'Its one thing to be appointed, another to be engaged and given responsibility and finally, your ability to perform given minimal funds is Paramount. For instance, If I'm a PA to a PA in govt and I'm given all that is due to me and entitlements as govt appointee, I'll be satisfied. I don't need to be promoted to the position of a "senior" or call it super commissioner or director general of the director general or deputy with no impact.'
Obongha noted that with such a numerous amount of appointees, Ayade's government would have succeeded greatly should all of the appointees perform at their maximum capacity they would have in turn increased the state Internally Generated Revenue(IGR).
'...what is appointment without responsibility?' He questioned
It is worthy to note that Ayade in all has appointed over 3,000 Appointees. romours has it that in a retreat held in the early years of the administration, He governor openly told his appointees that he will only work with just 5% of them as many of their appointment was just to put food on their tables.
'Please my fellow youths, as we go about glamouring for leadership positions, we should also be ready to deliver on the mandate. Leadership comes with responsibilities and fashion is far from it.

'August greetings my fellow youths, permit me to accelerate a little on issues that affect us most as young men.
Let me courageously thank His Excellency the Digital Governor of Cross River State Governor Benedict Ayade for finding some of you worthy to be part of his administration. But what is appointment without responsibility?
Leadership to me is service and if you can't serve others, then you should not think of leading.
Its one thing to be appointed, another to be engaged and given responsibility and finally, your ability to perform given minimal funds is Paramount. For instance, If I'm a PA to a PA in govt and I'm given all that is due to me and entitlements as govt appointee, I'll be satisfied. If you are SA scrap, you should be reasonable enough to convert all the scraps in Cross River State to monetary value which will improve the IGR of the State.
If you are SA livestock or Agriculture, you should be able to engage the world Bank and other agricultural Banks in developing the livestock sector. If Cross River State owns a livestock farm, it will definitely improve our IGR.
If you are SA solid minerals, you should understand that Cross River State has enormous solid minerals especially in Etung, Obubra, Boki and other notable LGAs not forgetting Akamkpa LGA.
As an appointee, what should you be remembered for? If we can't managed these little offices given us, my brothers and sisters no need of going further.
