Planning Committee for the Reinhard Bonke and Daniel Kolenda Great Gospel Crusade in Calabar and the Cross River State Police Command are putting adequate measures in place to ensure that the February 15th to 18th Crusade is hitch free.
Dr Lawrence Ekwok, Chairman of the Panning Committee told a joint meeting of leaders of churches in the state that nothing is being left to chance in ensuring adequate security during the crusade.
He said one of the measures is to ensure that miscreants popularly
called area boys are being integrated into the security system of the
crusade by providing them free feeding and special tags to draw them
close so that they will receive the word of God and be transformed
“The Area Boys are human beings and our plan is to make them part of the security system by proving them special tags and free feeding during the crusade so that they could be touched by the word of God and change for the better’
According to Ekwok who is also Pentecostal Fellowship, PFN, Chairman in the state, there will be so ,many miracles during the crusade such that anyone close to the venue will be touched which is why the area boys are being drawn close.
He said Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, venue of the crusade3 is being bulldozed to make for a convivial atmosphere and environment to ensure a hitch free crusade.
Mr Hafiz Inuwa, the Cross River Commissioner of Police said surveillance is being carried out daily by his men to clear all the area of those who might poss a threat during the crusade.
“My men have been patrolling the city particularly Calabar South to clear the area of those who might pose a threat during the crusade.”
He said during the crusade proper, police men including anti riot, plainclothes and foot men would be deployed to the area both night and day
