An aide to Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo, Speaker, Cross River State House Of Assembly, Mr. Victor Bassey has declared those who protest against Ayade's Government or second term ambition as enemies to the state.
Mr. Victor who is also the DG of a socio-political group called Voice of Central, a group known for canvassing votes for politicians during elections made the statement on his Facebook wall while addressing the recent PDP rally held in Abuja where a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart from the Cross River state Mr. Emmanuel Ibeshi declared his interest to run the Governorship race come 2019. The group which stormed WADATA Plaza in Abuja demanded a free and fair and a level playing ground in the forth coming PDP primaries election in cross river state.
Mr. Bassey's statement reads in full:
SCAM AND HIRED CROWD PROTEST AGAINST THE INTEREST OF CRS IN WADATA PLAZA ABUJA
The protest at PDP national headquarters yesterday Thursday 19th was a scam and not realistic, the crowd was hired and there do not represent the interest of the people of cross river state.
Cross River state South, Central, and North including all support groups in the state have all endorsed His Excellency our amiable governor Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for a second term which is our unanimous agreement.
Any person or group of persons involved in any protest against the interest of cross riverians is declared as an enemy of cross river State. Meanwhile, the full support of HE by the entire state stand stronger than any personal interest.
I therefore call the youths and people of cross river state to still maintain the peaceful political stability we are enjoying in the state.

Blogger's Thoughts
What TDN is yet to establish from the above statement is what authority does Mr. Victor Bassey have to declare fellow citizens like him who are expressing their interest for a particular candidate an act he is chiefly known for, an enemy to the state.
One may tend to ask if working for the speaker of the state house of assembly has automatically conferred on Mr. Bassey the status of an authority assigned to banish and declare citizens enemies to the state?
Does Victor Bassey know the implications of declaring some or a group an enemy to the state?
I will not want to conclude that he made those statement unbehalf of the speaker, CRSHA because the speaker I know is a learned gentleman, full of wisdom that plays ethical politics.
