In what looks like a display of political disloyalty, and direct affront to the very powers that lifted him from the dung hill and placed him on the throne which he cursed sits, Sen. John Owan Enoh, Senator representing Central Senatorial District of Cross River State has thrown a sharp jab at his political godfather, former Governor of Cross River State Sen. Liyel Imoke.
The senator who spoke through one of his aides Emmanuel Awubi boasted that he is the only one that can command the attention of Central Cross River State. He is the Lion of Central Cross River politics.
The distinguished went on to state that 'While sleepers and politicians have refused to restructure their pattern of political activism in our state, he has like a good student improved his skill and attained perfection In dealing with political issues globally'.
Recall that while Imoke was in office as Governor of Cross River State, he was often referred to as the 'sleeping Governor' so it may not be out of place to think the phrase 'while sleepers' directly points at Imoke.
The statement which had generated a lot of comments saw Cross Riverians questioning when and how Owan became the Lion of central or the only one that can command the attention of Cross River Central Senatorial District when the likes of Sen Liyel Imoke is still alive and active in Cross River State politics?
It is not a hidden fact that senator Liyel Imoke made Owan Enoh who he is today especially in 2015 when he staked out his neck to ensure Owan's emergence has the Senator for the central in Cross River State.
It may be argued that the post is not a direct message from Owan as it was written by an over zealous aide. But what gives credence to the post is the fact that the said aide pointed out that Owan has read and given a nod to the post.
The controversial statement reads in full:
'He is coming like thunder. He has been with us this while. He is the only one that can command the attention of Central Cross River State. The lion of central Cross River politics. While sleepers and politicians have refused to restructure their pattern of political activism in our state, he has like a good student improved his skill and attained perfection In dealing with political issues globally. His name is Senator John Owan Enoh. He is going to teach Cross Riverians what empowerment should be like in an Agricultural predominant society like central Cross River. I guess to see farmers Cooperative own Tractors, Trailers, Pickup, conveying Vans, mobile Rice Miller, Digester for Palm oil processing, Cassava processing Machine, financial aid for Agricultural investment and other value chain, Transportation facilities for faithful supporters. It shall indeed be a day in history. For those who went on social exile and surfaced months to election with gifts of Motor Bikes with the motive of shortening the life of their enemies, we should pray that God grant them what they desire for others.
2019 Is not for greedy men, it is for one amongst the ordinary people and those who stay with us shall be sent by us. God bless Cross River State.'
Blogger's Thoughts
It seems to me that Social Media has become a ground for untrained journalist and media aides to spring up.
Many of this self acclaimed journalist cum media aides are not even willing to take out time and acquaint themselves with some of the basics codes of conduct and ethics etc of journalism and Social Media laws. At least these would have given a foundation to operate from.
And our politicians believe anybody who can write lengthy post with strong words and can also write useless jagons he knows nothing about while challenging and intimidating opposition will make a good media aide.
I have seen many of such rise and fall, some even attempt to build blogs but that has also fallen.
For the so called media aides, be careful what you say and how you say them because right from the day you accepted to be a media aide, you lost your 90% of your personal words, whatever you say can also be attributed to your principal. So watch your words.
