Yes there will surely be LG in Cross River State...but - Ayade insist

The executive Governor of Cross River State, his Excellency Sen. Prof Ben Ayade has retreated his commitment to conduct Local Government elections in the state.

The governor who was represented by his deputy made this known to press men when he visited the secretariat of Association of Cross River Online Journalist(ACROJ) Thursday in Calabar the state capital.

The deputy Governor is quoted as saying ' off course there will surely be Local Government elections in the state but what I can't tell now is the date and year'

The deputy Governor used the occasion to unbehalf of the Governor commission the secretariat of the association.
He also advised online Media practitioners not to always malign people and misrepresent facts in their reportage.

He said this is necessarily because several persons outside the state rely on online News platforms to get information about Cross River State.

Recall that fearlessreport had reported that, the ACROJ Chairman, Comrade Hope Obeten thanked the Governor for identifying with the association even as he assured that the association will continue to work for the development of the state.

"I want to thank you for finding time to be here. We see ourselves as partners working for the progress of the state and we want to appeal that you always leave your doors open each time we come knocking", he said.

Earlier, the Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman of ACROJ, Mr. Agba Jalingo said that the association was not formed to struggle media space with other affiliate unions but to work in synergy for the progress of the state.

Jalingo said that "We have had a situation where we approached some agencies for information but they will say since we're not NUJ they won't recognize us. This is why we have decided to invite you to come here and see what we're doing. We see ourselves as affiliate of the NUJ so we're happy that you're here today to identify with us".

Finally, professor Esu retreated government commitment to work with the union to ensure smooth sail of all their operations
