Rt. Honourable Essien Ayi, member representing Akpabuyo/Bakassi/ Calabar South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on Monday inaugurated a thirty man Central campaign committee to handle his 2019 re-election campaign with a specific charge on a new approach of campaigning for his re-election. Hon Ayi said the need for a campaign committee became imperative in order to sell his manifesto and achievements in the past years to the people who have entrusted their mandate to him.
He said the vision and mandate of the committee is to ensure that nothing is taken for granted and every nook and cranny of the constituency is reached and all their questions and demands are addressed before the elections.
"This committee is for all Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidates and not for me alone. I started the initiative and when others come on board with their committees we will form a synergy and work for a common goal which is victory for the party at all levels".
Hon Ayi said experience is veritable tool in law making and effective representation and called on the people of the constituency to have confidence in him because he will continue to deliver the devidends of democracy to them.
He said he will personally visit all the local government areas to inaugurate the local government committees and the ward campaign committees and assured that nothing would be left out in ensuring that everyone is carried along in the campaign.
Hon Inyang Nyong, Chairman of the Central Campaign Committee said with the caliber of persons that constitute the committee, the campaign would be effective and assured Hon Ayi of victory in the election.
"We will not take anything for granted and with the caliber of persons that constitute this committee, it is certain that we will coast to victory in 2019".
He said the PDP would win all the seats including the Presidency in 2019 beause Nigerians are fed up with the change brought by the AllProgressive Congress, APC, and are waiting for the PDP to take over which will be smooth in 2019.
