Friday 9th November was the date when Sen Prof. Ben Ayade desolved the Cocoa Allocation Committee without reasons.
The desolution came via a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Christian Ita.
The release further warned members of the public "not to pay any money nor carry out any financial transaction with any member of the dissolved committee pending further directives from His Excellency the Governor".
The statement reads in full:
PRESS RELEASE
Cross River State Governor, His Excellency Professor Ben Ayade has ordered the dissolution of the Cocoa Allocation Committee with immediate effect.
By this dissolution, all allocations to individuals or groups is hereby revoked.
Furtherance to the above, members of the public are hereby advised not to pay any money nor carry out any financial transaction with any member of the dissolved committee pending further directives from His Excellency the Governor.
Any Person who defiles this directive does so at his/ her own risk.
The chairman is by this announcement directed to handover all official documents in his possesion to the secretary of the committee.
Members of the public are advised to please take note.

In our usual inquisitive nature and in a bid to bring you the gist behind the story, TDN went further to find out why the sudden desolution of the committee because, his Excellency the governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade hardly dismises anyone from any responsibility except grievious offenses has been committed.
And true to it, a lot was revealed. A source familiar with the story and a member of the governor's kitchen cabinet, revealed that the desolution of the Augustine Ayuk's led committee may not be unconnected with the fact that the committee "Allocated plots to only themselves and their girlfriends".
The source went on to disclose that "6 of them went behind and collected money from alortees for 2/3 years ahead"
Another source familiar with the story described the Chairman of the committee as one Augustine Ayuk, elder brother to rebel APC leader Ebuta Ojong Ayuk revealed that "Some members of the committee even defected to APC after decieving people and collecting money".
Efforts to reach out to Mr. Augustine Ayuk, chairman of the defunct committee proved abortive as at press time. Notwithstanding, we promise to furnish you with more details as events unveils.
