| Primary Healthcare Tricycle Ambulances ready for commissioning |

CALABAR - In a bid to keep to his campaign promises and key into the Universal Health Coverage vision of the United Nations, the governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade has launched and donated 59 Tricycle Ambulances to the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency.
The Tricycle Ambulances is procured to deliver effective healthcare in rural and hard to reach areas of the State, specifically, the Primary Healthcare Centres.
Speaking at the occasion, the Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr Faisal Shuaib lauded governor Ayade for what he's doing in the health sector.
He said, "Governor Ben Ayade is the only governor in Nigeria that has matched Mr President commitment to primary health care development. He has built primary health centres within 72hours.
"We are proud to identity with the work you have done in renovating over 100 primary health care centres, providing solar power and other essential equipment for primary health care development."

The DG of the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu disclosed that the state has over 459 hard to reach communities
with millions of people residing there.
Dr. Edu said that her Agency had attempted using the bigger ambulances in the hinter land but it was an uphill task because most times they get stuck in the bad roads and terrible terrain, the Tricycle Ambulances will therefore, ease the conveyance of health care recievers refered to secondary Medical healthcare Center to access the urban areas in case of emergencies.
Some of the benefiting communities are Ikang, Ebom Ebijakara, Creek Town Akparabong, Apiapum, Ikot Omin, Ajasor, Mbarakom, Otokwan Central, Uyamoyong, Atimbo East, up Ranch, Mbube1, Idundu Ifiong Ayong,Orida, Nkim, Ikot Ansa, etc.
Dr. Shuaib was led by the State's Commissioner for Health, Dr. Inyang Asibong and the Director General of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu, and conducted round the State.
The Executive Director and all the Executive Heads of States' PHCDA in Nigeria in their two days visit will inspect some Primary Healthcare facilities in Calabar to see the Ayade magic and learn good practice from Cross River State.
