Barely 24 hours after the pronouncements of a court judgement barring Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo , member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the green chambers of the national assembly from contesting the Cross River Southern senatorial race, the Lawmaker has sent words of consolation to his teeming supporters calling for calm, promising that his name will surely be on the ballot come February 2023.
Speaking through a press statement signed by the director of operations of DANSUKI Campaign Organisation, Evangelist Prince Paul Effiong, the lawmaker said the suit and the judgment is a testimonial of his massive well acceptance by the grassroot, while urging supporters to remain calm and committed.
DANSUKI as he is fondly called, appreciated the leadership of Labour Party for their proactive step taking in addressing the matter. He further informed that he won't relent in his campaign and in doing good to members of his constituency.
The statement by Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo reads in part:
While the party and her team of legal luminaries are studying the proceedings of the judgment, our principal remains very grateful for the show of love and maturity displayed by all our supporters. The suit truly explains our grassroots appeal and acceptance which is giving our opponents sleepless nights.
We also want to commend the party through her leadership in the state, Amb. Ogar Assim for addressing the over-bloated victory by the APC. Even the deaf can hear that the victory has not gained traction and is not worth celebrating.
We know that you have been inundated with calls, messages, and taunts, whereas others who are sympathetic to our cause have also expressed their goodwill. In all of these, the Campaign Organization of the Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo for Senate 2023 appreciate all party men, the OBI-DIENT supporters, stakeholders, friends, and allies for your prayers and support.
Do not relent or rest on your oars in propagating the message of our political revolution and the consciousness of not allowing the evil of the past to give birth to the present existence of instability and poor representation.
Continue your good works of campaigning, selling the candidacy of the Principal, your Principal as the party works round to upscale the arms of justice in our favour, for our labour shall not be in vain neither shall we continue to witness the apogee in political exclusion and repression that has bedeviled us.
We remain unconquered, we shall stand election, and God willing, we shall win.

Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Calabar had nullified the candidacy Rt. Hon. (Ntufam) Daniel Effiong Asuquo following a suit filed by the All Progressive Congress in support of their candidate, Asuquo Ekpenyong (Jr). on the grounds that he did not defect from the PDP, his name was not on the party's register among other things.
