Ayade encouraged me not to Abandon School when things were rough with me -UNICROSS VC

The Vice Chancellor, University Of Cross River State, Prof Augustine Agba, has said the Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade encouraged him not to back out of school.


Speaking on Tuesday,  during the public presentation of two books, held in Calabar, the Cross State Capital, titled "The Good Nigerian and Youthism and the Nigerian question",  Written by Rootman Ogbor Member Representing Biase State Constituency in the Cross River State House Of Assembly, Agba said despite backing out of school, the governor advised him never to back out of school.



He said "I remember back then in University of Ibadan, and I can say it again and again without being biased I was standing with his Excellency senator Professor Ben Ayade (CON), and I had backed out of school, he said no Augustine, education is good you must not back out of school".


Augustine also advised that youths and students should take education seriously, changing the narratives and mind set that Education is a not a scam.


"Education is not a scam, young people should learn how to read books we must learn, we must not be too busy to read.

"The author of the book took pains; he knows what it means to sit down and write a book, I tell you it is not a child's play .

"You can be intelligent but you may not know how to use the intelligence for your own good. Please students, and young persons you can launch a book even as a student".

Present at the book launch was the Cross Blue State Deputy Governor, Prof Ivara Esu, commissioners, State parliamentarians, speaker state house of assembly, and other senior government officials.


Highpoint of the event was a launching of the book which focuses on Youthism, and Nigeria.
