The All Progressives Congress Gubernatorial candidate in Cross River State, Prince Bassey Edet Otu has aid that he will lead with the fear of God as governor if he is voted in as governor come 2023.
Otu who was a special guest at the Calabar City Wide Crusade organised by the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, said he was delighted that the Church decided to host the event which has as its theme "The Great Escape" in Calabar, stating that the choice of Calabar was very significant.
While appreciating the leadership of the church for their constant prayers for the nation, the former lawmaker said when given the opportunity to lead the state as governor, he will govern with the fear of God.
He also used the opportunity to call on all political players across party lines to ensure the embrace peace as they go about their campaigns and politicking as power comes from God.
Earlier, in his address, the National President of the Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Pastor Dr. Sampson Igwe appreciated and blessed the APC standard bearer for finding out time to be part of the programme.
The Clergy explained that his blessings on the APC's gubernatorial candidate was premised on the scriptures in Proverbs 29 verse 2 which says when the righteous rule, the people rejoice. He went on to admonished politicians to endeavour to lead the people with the fear of God.
