The Cross River governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, Mr Joseph Coco-Bassey has sent a heartwarming message to his mother as she marks her 86th birthday.
Bassey who took to his personal Facebook handle to share pictures of him and his mother while thanking God for keeping her alive said his mother deserves to be celebrated by him as she had always stood up for him I'm times of need.
The former Staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC who resigned from the Commission months before indicating interest to contest the 2023 gubernatorial elections in Cross River extolled the good virtues of his mother stating that her prayers and advice have kept him going to date.
His birthday message as posted on his Facebook wall reads in full:
"Mum like no other, you deserve to be celebrated by me as you have found favour with God to see another new year in your life.
You sat and watched me grow with so much love and care. You stood up for me in every need I had. You always prayed for me and directed me right.
May God bless & keep you to reap the fruit of your labour.
Happy birth anniversary Mma May. God bless you. 86 looks good on you!"
Recall that Coco-Bassey had recently in an Online TV programme, "Political Round Table" decried the level of disaffection from the South whom he said haven't formed a united front to push to reality the back to South mantra.
He also said he doubted the sincerity of some Southern leaders who never supported any of the 8 southern Candidates during the Primary elections of the People's Democratic Party in the state,
which he said witnessed a lot of betrayals.

Bassey further insisted that he is in the gubernatorial race out of his conviction of saving his people who he said where languishing at the mercy of tyrants.
