As the 2023 general election gets closer, a former lawmaker in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, who represented Cross River Central Senatorial District, Sen. John Owan Enoh over the weekend commenced mobilisation of support for all candidates of the the All Progressives Congress.
In a stakeholders meeting held in Ikom, the former lawmaker called on his supporters to ensure all candidates of the Party win their elections across the 66 wards of the district.
Sen. Enoh who was an aspirant for the gubernatorial race in Cross River State urged his supporters to work harder than they would have done if he was on the ballot for the All Progressives Congress. "I need all of you to go back home to work as hard as you can to get Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu elected as President for the progress of Nigeria, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu elected as Governor of Cross River state and every other candidate flying our party's flag are all elected into their various offices." He said.
The grassroots politician, who earns the political nickname as "Talk-and- do Senator", painstakingly to his supporters why they must work for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be elected as President of Nigeria.
"The 2023 Presidential contest is not about religion; far from it. It's about the fundamental case for the rotation of the Presidency between Northern and Southern Nigeria and the tendency of PDP's Atiku Abubakar to want to destroy this fundamental principle and thereby gamble with the very basis of the unity of our country."
The 2023 Presidential election is not a referendum on President Buhari's Presidential term; this happened in 2019 and Nigerians re-elected him. The election is about putting on a scale the past records of the Presidential candidates and the extent to that these assists us to project what each will do with Presidential power.
The election is about who among the top runners has exhibited enough courage, imagination, initiative, intellect, foresight and leadership to entrust the onerous responsibility of leading our country at this most challenging time. This election is about who already has the track record in effective domestic revenue mobilization to respond from day one to Nigeria's most intracting revenue challenge.
The election is about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has demonstrated so much leadership in so many spheres of our national life beginning from the fight for democracy to its enthronment and its journey thus far. This election is about electing Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as commander in Chief and on whose table the buck will stop according to the 33rd United States President, Harry Truman."
He similarly persuaded his supporters to support the APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Prince Bassey Otu.
On the governorship candidate of the party, Owan Enoh said Otu has all it takes to In his words "Sen Bassey Otu didn't give himself the name 'sweet Prince'. He earned it in the course of his Representation not because his constituents liked his face but because they loved his work. Going into the Governorship race of 2023, our APC Governorship candidate, Sen Otu has the right combination of a good and large heart to do good for Cross River and its people. He's humble and down to earth enough to expect him to remain focused on the work of governing Cross River."
His supporters who are now BATIFIEDLY animated and enlivened after hearing from the Distinguished Senator, pledged to work, both day and night, street-to-street, and door-to-door to sermonize the message of 'Renewed Hope' for the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Prince Bassey Otu and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress.
