AWKA— The Anambra State Government has announced the maiden edition of the Anambra Innovation Week, scheduled to hold in Nov. 25 to Nov. 29, 2024 in the state.
Speaking at a press conference in Awka, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Solution Innovation District (SID) Chinwe Okoli, said the event aims to showcase Nigeria and Africa's vibrant technology and innovation.
According to Okoli, the five-day event will feature exhibitions, competitions, masterclasses, and workshops designed to advance technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
She further disclosed that the Governor has prioritized infrastructure development, with 13.7 hectares of land designated for the Solution Innovation District (SID), and construction underway.
Hon. Okoli also announced the "Battle for Solutions" competition with over ₦100 million in cash prizes to be won, inviting Nigerian startups and innovators to pitch solutions addressing critical societal challenges in health sector, renewable energy, environment among others.
Application for the competition is open on the Anambra Innovation Week website and social media platforms.
