100 Days in Office: Akamkpa LG boss disclose Source of Leadership Success

CALABAR — The Executive Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Felix Akposi KSJ has described his journey to becoming council chairman as the handiwork of God. Adding that he owes gratitude to God alone.

Speaking in a special Thanksgiving service to mark his first 100 days in Office, Akposi revealed that his becoming  chairman of council was miraculously concluded by God in less than an hour. Stating that only an ungrateful person will not return back to give thanks and gratitude to God. 

"It is only an ingrate that will not appreciate God the way I do. From my aspiration to my candidacy and my eventual election, everything was divinely orchestrated by God. It has been God and God alone. ...I have indeed seen some changes in my life in the last 5 months and it's worth thanking God for all his goodness.' the Chairman asserted. 

The LG boss use the opportunity to also appreciate God for giving him a great and committed team to work with him. He said his team has been his support system giving him the needed backup to succeed. 

Akposi likened the bond and unity between him, the legislators, his staff and  appointees as that of a bunch of broom that cannot be broken, but will achieve greater task because of their unity and oneness. 

"My team is like a bunch of broom, we cannot be broken. My team has been my greatest backbone, the support I get from them is second to none, Thier cooperation and support is part of the secret to the success recorded even in most of the projects we have executed so far."

In his homily, the Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Obaina Agbor, Cathedral Administrator, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Calabar charged the Council Chairman and politicians to have a heart of thanksgiving towards God as it will propel more blessings from God. 

"When you acknowledge God as the source of your elevation, He entrusts you with more. Leadership is a calling, and those entrusted with governance must never forget to return thanks to the One who ordains kings and removes them at will," Rev. Fr. Agbor declared

The event which was well attended had the Member Representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Dr. Emil Inyang, Members Representing Akamkpa one and two in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Okon 

The grand occasion was graced by an array of dignitaries from within and beyond Akamkpa. Among the notable attendees was the Member Representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Emil Inyang, who commended Akposi's leadership and expressed optimism in his ability to drive sustainable development in the local government..

Also present were Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Chief of Staff to the Governor; Hon. Okon Owuna and Rt. Hon. Linus Bassey Etim, members representing Akamkpa 1 and 2 in the Cross River State House of Assembly; and Hon. Yibala Inyang, Chairman of Yakurr LGA and Chairman of Forum of LG Chairmen in Cross River State alongside several other local government chairmen from across the state.

Also present was Pastor Patrick Asikpo (Petido), APC State Secretary. The  Traditional institutions wasn't left out as they were well represented, with His Royal Majesty, Ophot Agbor Ewa Ebani, the Paramount Ruler of Akamkpa.

Philanthropist and business mogul Engr. Ben Akak of the Ben Akak Foundation was also among the distinguished guests, reaffirming the collective goodwill that has rallied around the Akamkpa chairman's administration
