CALABAR – Deputy Leader of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Davies Etta, has applauded Governor Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu on his recent recognition as Governor of the Year on Economic Transformation by Daily Independent Newspaper, describing it as a well-earned acknowledgment of his visionary leadership and developmental strides.
The award was presented at a prestigious event at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, attended by top political and economic figures, including National and State Assembly members, Cross River's Executive Council, and leading government officials. Former Osun State Governor and founding APC Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, handed over the honour.
Reacting to the award, Rt. Hon. Davies Etta who represents Abi state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, praised Governor Otu's bold economic policies and commitment to industrial and infrastructural revitalization, which he said have repositioned Cross River for sustainable growth.
"Governor Otu's leadership has been marked by strategic economic interventions, industrial revival, and infrastructural expansion. His unwavering commitment to transforming Cross River State is evident in the progress recorded across various sectors. This award is a well-deserved recognition of his impact, and I wholeheartedly congratulate him on this achievement," Etta stated.
Governor Otu's administration has focused on reviving moribund industries and ensuring economic continuity. His government has operationalized projects such as the Cross River Noodles Factory, Poultry Processing Plant, and the Cross River State Pharmaceutical Company, aiming to boost job creation, local production, and internally generated revenue.
