...Inaugurates LGA, Ward, Polling Unit Executives and Unveils Six Billboards

IKOM, – In a grand political event aimed at consolidating grassroots support, the Voice of Central, a prominent political support group, is set to officially inaugurate its Central, Local Government Area (LGA), Ward, and Polling Unit Executives. The event will also serve as an endorsement rally for the candidacy of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and Rt. Hon. Peter Odey for a second term as Governor and Deputy Governor of Cross River State, respectively, in the 2027 General Elections.
The high-profile occasion is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28th June 2025, with a rally kick-off from the Federal Government College (FGC) Ikom to the Ikom Council Hall, which will host the inauguration ceremony by noon. The rally is set to begin at 10:00 am.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Director General of the Voice of Central, Mr. Victor Bassey, revealed that as part of the day's activities, six strategically positioned billboards will be unveiled across the Senatorial District one in each Local Government Area bearing messages of endorsement and solidarity with the administration of Governor Otu and his deputy.
"We are witnessing remarkable achievements and people-centred projects under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Otu. The Voice of Central believes it is only logical to support continuity so that the Governor can consolidate and complete his transformational agenda," Mr. Bassey stated.
He emphasised the importance of the event, describing it as a turning point in rallying key political stakeholders and the grassroots toward the success of the 2027 project. "We are mobilising all structures down to the polling units to show that the Central Senatorial District is united in its resolve to return the Governor and his Deputy," he added.
The event will be attended by major political stakeholders, support groups, community leaders, youth and women's organisations, as well as traditional institutions, all of which are expected to declare their unalloyed support for the incumbent government.
Governor Bassey Otu, known for his "People First" mantra, has initiated and completed numerous impactful projects across the health, agriculture, infrastructure, and education sectors, earning him widespread praise and growing grassroots backing for re-election.
Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, who hails from the Northern Senatorial District, has also been instrumental in driving policies and projects that have benefited local communities across the state.
Stakeholders are encouraged to turn out en masse for the event, which promises to be a unifying moment for political alignment and forward planning for 2027.
