Amb. Hakim Hails Otu’s Fight Against Insecurity in Akpabuyo, as Stakeholders Commit to Party Unity

CALABAR – Amb. David Hakim has applauded Governor Bassey Edet Otu for his firm and strategic response to insecurity in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, noting that the area has witnessed a significant return to peace and stability.

Speaking to journalists shortly after a stakeholders' gathering recently in Akpabuyo, Hakim described the transformation as timely and impactful, especially for residents who had previously lived under the threat of kidnapping and criminal activities.

"Akpabuyo was once faced with serious security challenges, but today, there is a visible change. Peace has been restored, and our people can now live and do business without fear," he said.

The event, which was organized to celebrate the emergence of newly appointed Chapter and Ward Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), attracted key dignitaries including Dr. Edem Okokon Effiom, Coordinator of the State Social Investment Programme, and Dr. Bong Duke, Vice Chairman of the State Planning Commission.

Hakim, a one time House of Assembly aspirant, also commended the Executive Chairman of Akpabuyo Local Government Area, Hon. Bassey Effiom, for his grassroots leadership and commitment to inclusivity, urging him to sustain an open-door policy that accommodates all party members and stakeholders.

In a unified stance, stakeholders present at the event reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening internal cohesion within the APC, emphasizing that unity remains essential for sustaining development and consolidating the gains recorded in security and governance.

They pledged continued support for the Governor's administration and expressed optimism that the current trajectory of peace and development in Akpabuyo would be sustained for the benefit of all residents.
