CALABAR – Surefoot International School (SIS), Calabar, has once again reinforced its reputation as one of Nigeria's leading centres of academic excellence, maintaining a 100 per cent success rate in both the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as it graduated its Class of 2026.
The graduation ceremony also marked the school's 18th anniversary, celebrating nearly two decades of delivering quality education rooted in academic excellence, leadership development, innovation and strong Christian values.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Founder and President of the school, Mrs. Obioma Liyel Imoke, described the institution's greatest accomplishment as raising young people who are not only academically outstanding but also grounded in integrity, compassion and purpose.
"At Surefoot International School, education extends far beyond the classroom. Our mission is to prepare children for a future where changing the world is not merely a dream but a responsibility they willingly embrace," she said.
Mrs. Imoke noted that for the past 18 years, the school has remained committed to producing confident learners, ethical leaders, creative thinkers and responsible global citizens capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
She commended the graduating students for their hard work and resilience while acknowledging the dedication of teachers and the unwavering support of parents in sustaining the school's culture of excellence.
Delivering the graduation charge, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, former Governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke, CON, urged the graduating class to uphold the values of integrity, discipline and service as they advance into higher education and future careers.
According to him, academic success alone is not enough to guarantee meaningful impact, stressing that character remains the greatest asset any leader can possess.
"The education you have received at Surefoot International School has prepared you not only to succeed academically but also to lead with integrity, courage and compassion.
"The future belongs to young people who are innovative, disciplined and committed to solving problems. As you leave these halls, let your character be your greatest strength, your knowledge your instrument of change and your service your enduring legacy," he said.
The ceremony featured the presentation and conferment of graduation certificates as well as prestigious Board Awards presented to outstanding students in recognition of excellence in character, leadership and other special achievements.
Parents, alumni, education stakeholders, government officials, captains of industry and distinguished guests from within and outside Cross River State attended the colourful event, celebrating another cohort of graduates prepared to compete successfully on the global stage.
