The digital governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade has ordered the immediate employment of not less than 1000 health workers including Nurses and Midwives to aid speedy and efficient delivery of Primary health care services in the state.
While announcing the approval of the 1000 employment of health workers in the state, the governor charged the heads of Primary health care agencies across the country to see their jobs as a rare privilege from God to save lives in their millions. As such the must be committed to going an extra mile to make things work
The gesture TDN learnt was extended to the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency during a courtesy call on the governor by the Executive Director and CEO National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib,
During the visit, Dr. Shauib said that Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade who is a great admirer of the good works of President Muhammadu Buhari has performed excellently well in revitalisation and strengthening of primary healthcare in Cross River State.
He said ever since the commissioning of Kuchingoro Primary healthcare centre by the President last year there have been massive infrastructural development of PHC across the State which makes Cross River state exceptional.
He noted that he came with the Executive Secretaries of all the State Primary healthcare Board and Agency in Nigeria and they are excited to be in clean Calabar and hopefully there will share experiences on how they can improving healthcare services for all Nigerians.

On her part the DG, Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu, thanked the governor for the overwhelming support the Agency have been enjoying as she also said "Governor Ben Ayade understands Primary health care deeply.... he is focused on saving lives in their millions in remote hard to reach areas".
The ED and ES across Nigeria was later treated to a world class dinner organized by the Honorable Commissioner for Health Dr Inyang Asibong and the Director General/ Executive Secretary of Primary Healthcare Agency in Cross River State, Dr Betta Edu. Who earlier on received praises from their boss for working together as a team to improve health care.
