Why Senator Rose Oko aka "sleeping beauty" should Be Recalled After Dino Melaye - Simon Utsu

Mr. Simon Utsu, a young vibrant Cross Riverian based in Lagos and a social/political commentator has called for the recall of Senator Rose Oko, Senator representing Northern Senatorial district off Cross River State.

Mr. Utsu argued that the senator is nothing to write home about as compared to her colleagues in the red chambers who are busy moving Motions and effectively representing their constituency.

Mr. Ustu who referred to the senator as "sleeping beauty", urged members of her constituency to recall her should the attempt on recalling of Sen. Dino Melaye of Kogi State scale through, it will set a precedence fort the recall off senator Rose Oko and other inactive representatives in the National Assembly.

If Dino Melaye's recall is successful, it'll open the floodgate for (subsequent) recalls and by the special grace of God, my Senator, Rose Oko aka "sleeping beauty" will be the next Senator to be recalled. Even someone that is bitten by a tse-tse fly doesn't sleep on duty like she does! No significant motion raised, no meaningful bill sponsored and not one impactful constituency project in more than 2 years in office. If she doesn't deserve a recall, who does?

Ebriku John Friday Distinguished Senator Rose Oko, the chairman, Senate Committee of Diaspora and NGOs, has inspite of the dwindling economy executed her constituency projects in 2016 and two months ago in 2017. She has sponsored bills with far reaching impacts. A bill on Cassava value chains which will impact the economy of Cross River North, Cross River State in particular and the nation at large. She has sponsored a bill on an amendment of CBN act to ensure transparency and accountability, especially as it concerns the CBN interventions, that are done without the National Assembly vetting. She is warming up to storm the five local government areas of her senatorial district to fete them with her enduring constituency projects. And everyone here will be kept posted. Our dear senator is an active member in the floor of the upper legislative chamber and has influence that is reckoned with. She visited home in May and interacted with her constituents. She will soon be engaging her constituents in Abuja, which will be replicated across Cross River North. She is fully awake and diligently carrying out her legislative duty at the NASS and other oversight function. Chinedu Nwobodo That is one of the problems why Nigeria can never move forward. When a mechanical engineer takes an office of a medical doctor and vice versa what do you expect? She has nothing to offer rather than the sleep, likewise many others.
