Muslim Clerics in Cross River State have organised special prayers for Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Nigeria to remain a peaceful and indivisible Country as the Country celebrate its 62nd Independence Day Jummat Prayers at the Eastern Naval Command Central Mosque Calabar.
The event organised by the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Muslim Affairs, Alhaji Tanimu Hassan ,had in attendance the Chief Imam of the Eastern Naval Command Central Mosque, Lt Comander Abdulhameed Dawud who prayed for the leadership of both Cross River State and Nigeria.
The Service Commander led by the Commissioner of Police,Aminu Hassan, representatives of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Army, DSS, Road Safety, Immigration, Correctional Service as well as other Islamic faithfuls attended the special Jumaat Service.
Speaking during the Prayers session,the Command Imam,Lt commander Abdulahmeed Dawud who captioned his sermon from "Surat Balad" said collective effort to support government and security agencies to succeed is required of all,saying "everywhere you are is your home amd you must contribute positively to the development of that place"
He opined that regardless of religion, tribe, ethnic group, Nigerians need to use her 62nd anniversary as an opportunity to pray ahead of the country's coming general elections to be peaceful and free of blood shed.
"We prayed that Almighty Allah to give us a leader that is the best for the country, with fear of God and people's service oriented"he added.
Special Adviser to The Governor on Muslim Affairs, Alhaji Tanimu Hassan, said the Special Jummat Prayer organised by the Cross River State Government was to commemorate the 62nd anniversary, saying despite the teething challenges, Nigeria is on the road to growth and Development.
Tanimu said Crosa River has already on auto pilot of Agro-Industrialization policy of Governor Ben Ayade ,saying in no distant time,The tourism Destination will become and industrial hub.
The FOMWAN Chairperson in Cross River State,Hajia Lateefah Yahaya called for prayers for Governor Ben Ayade and other leaders in the Country, saying the 62nd independence Celebrations should provide opportunity for leaders to reflect on their service delivery mechanism to the Citizenry.
The Commissioner of police, Aminu Alhassan appealed to Nigerians to continue to pray for the leaders that God will assist them to achieve success in their quest to ensure lasting peace and progress,assuring that peace and secured Cross River State is guaranteedunder his watch.
