Member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo fondly called DANSUKI has charged members of Muslims community in Cross River state to use the occasion of Eid-El Maulud to rebirth of a new Nigeria.
The lawmaker made this plea in a press statement issued in Calabar as part of activities to celebrate the 2022 Eid-El Maulud with Muslims faithfuls. Noting that the current state of the nation calls for reflective thinking by all genuine lovers of the nation and the Eid-El Maulud presents a good opportunity for Muslims across the country to pray for Nigeria and remember to vote wisely in the next elections.

Let the Eid-El Maulud celebration births a renewed hope that a new Nigeria is possible
On behalf of my family and constituents, I warmly felicitate with our Muslim community in Cross River State, our nation Nigeria and the world over, on the occasion of this year's celebration of Eid El Maulud.
The celebration of Eid El Maulud which commemorates the birth of the great prophet, Mohammed is very symbolic. This event as celebrated by our Muslim brothers elucidates the importance of the Prophet's birth as one whose role significantly impacted the Islamic religion.
On this very momentous occasion, my message to you, our Muslim brothers and sisters is very simple, relating it to the birth of a newborn which generally brings happiness. If we compare this with the birth of the prophet, our understanding of the spiritual insight demonstrates the importance of newness signaling the beginning of life. Though there are reservations by certain sects on the celebration of birthdays, the general import associated with a new birth makes it a universal norm of acceptance.
Juxtaposing this scenario with our situation as Nigerians, I pray we use this celebration to herald a rebirth of a new Nigeria as we will be electing new leaders next year. May we reflect on the kind of leadership we yearn for, not relying only on our conscience but also on true leadership credentials and delivery of quality services.
I charge the Muslim community to emulate and imbibe the good virtues of the Holy Prophet- peace, righteousness, tolerance, justice, equity, and fairness as we all reflect on the life and times of the Holy Prophet. Our country is in dire need of all of these in order to begin the journey towards healing and restoration. Let us use this richly spiritual festivity to reflect on nation-building even as we gravitate towards an election year. Let us set aside our religious and cultural differences, and for once focus our attention on getting Nigeria working again.
With God, we shall succeed and Nigeria shall be great again!
