NNEWI Anambra Indigenous Pentecostal Ministers Association (AIPMA) the umbrella body of all Pentecostal Ministers in Anambra State has stated that Nigeria as a nation is seriously sick in all aspect and requires an immediate intervention to salvage it in order to restore it back to its past glory noting that it is pathetic and regrettable to observe that the country has never being so divided, disunited and unsafe as it is presently just as they lamented the high rising issue of lopsided appointments in political offices, Civil Service, Security Services, sharing of National cake as well as unending strikes, closure of educational institutions etc.
Making this known in a communiqué issued after an International Prayer Conference held at Vom Villa Victory Tower Oraukwu, Idemili North Local Government Area Anambra State signed by Archbishop Mayor Mike Chukwudum and Rev. Dr. Chukwuemeka Okafor Chairman and Secretary of the association respectively made available to newsmen recently, the association urges the government and entire nation political leaders to rise up to this ugly development and prevent the nation from drifting further, appealing to all that all hands must be on the deck to salvage the country.
Speaking on the Nigeria security, the association stated that Nigeria nation has sadly become a bloody and most terrorized state which had led many of its citizens to lose faith in the ability of government to protect them and called the government to rise up to the occasion by rising up for an urgent need to rejig the country security architecture to protect its citizens.
Said the Indigenous Pentecostal Ministers, "It is no longer safe by roads, air or sea to travel to any part of the country, it is equally no longer safe at home, schools, hospitals, markets and work places, criminality, kidnappings, banditries and all manners of blood wastage is booming to the detriment of the lives of innocent Nigerians, all hands must be on deck to tackle this ugly development".
On the rule of law and recent redesigning of Nigeria currency, they urged that nobody including the government should be above the law stressing that government should by their action pay due respect to the rule of law by respecting court orders as well as the judiciary living up to the expectation of being actually the last hope of the common man just as they said they welcome the recent change of nation money saying that the hope this will bring good tidings to Nigeria.
Commenting on the next year February 2023 general election, they stressed that all hands must be on deck to ensure that righteous people are put in authority, they advised Nigerians not to make the mistake of putting the unrighteous in authority, while urging the masses to avoid indulging in any voting malpractices like selling of their voters card, they called specifically on women, youths to undersatnd that their future is in their PVC just as they also urged INEC not to do anything that will derail the future of Nigerians electorates by making sure they are objectives in conduct of their duties.
Speaking also on Christian attitudes to prayers and governance, the association while emphasizing the importance of prayers in the lives of Christians, called on all Christians to earnestly entreat the Lord in prayers to show mercy to their lives, politics, politicians, economy, systems and institutions. They as well enjoined all Christian leaders, traditional rulers, kings and leaders of various Christians Organizations to involve in governance and politics adding that they should dissuade Christian youths from idolatry, wickedness, abominable acts and ungodly actions.
