The governorship candidate and standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River state, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu has called on the party's presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to key the state into various sectors that will help revamp the economy of the state.
He noted that if the calabar seaport comes alive, Cross River will be made, as the governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade CON, has already made available a $10m investment portfolio which will be unveil in no distance time.
Speaking during the APC South South Women Rally held in Calabar, Otu said Cross River is emerging as the fastest growing economy in south of the niger,while calling on the federal government to assist the state grow economically being the first capital of the country.
The eloquent, grassroot politician fondly called 'Sweet Prince', said Cross River is totally for Tinubu and the party will deliver APC from start to finish.

We want you to key us into all the sectors, we don't want you to forget about our seaports. The moment we have that in place cross river state is made.

In her remarks Aisha Buhari, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria called on women to be serious with the activities and programs of the party so as to attain victory, while expressing optimism that women and youths will deliver in the forthcoming 2023 general elections. She noted that the party stands for peace and progress, urging the women to carry the campaign with seriousness and commitment.
Sen. Oluremi Tinubu who read the remarks on behalf of the first lady, said they would bring succor to unemployed youths in the state and as well, turn around the fortune of the people of the state for the better.
Governor Ben Ayade expressed gratitude for the choice of the state for the flag off of the campaign for the party candidates. "Our support for Asiwaju Tinubu is not because he is perfect. Our support for Asiwaju is because of his provable excellent track record as a people person who can consolidate on the gains of the present, drive inclusive growth, and lead our country to become more prosperous. "It is clear that the Asiwaju Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket is the most experienced and the most progressive combination available on the ballot in 2023," the governor said.
Earlier in her opening remark, APC National Women leader, Dr. Betta Edu mentioned that they will work with the presidential candidate to ensure that the rights and privileges of Nigerian women are fully protected. "We will work with Asiwaju to ensure that the rights and privileges of Nigerian women are fully protected." "I assure you of our commitment to making sure that women always get enough seats at the table where issues of public importance are decided." She added.
