As the fight for the soul of southern senatorial district of Cross River gets tougher, varsity student of Igbo origin residing in the state have thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo popularly called DANSUKI.
The Igwe Obialor, Cajetan Chukwuemeka, the AkusinaChi 1 of Malabo Ancient Kingdom, the custodian of the Igbo culture and tradition in the University of Calabar, revealed this in a courtesy visit on Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo where he commended the giant strides of the lawmaker and his leadership credentials in delivering democratic dividends to his constituents, the people of Cross River State over the years.
Igwe Chukwuemeka who was accompanied by his Lolo, was received by the Director of Operations of the Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo Senatorial Campaign Organization, Evangelist Prince Paul Effiong. The Igwe said that electioneering processes in the now are beyond party affiliation but a deliberate effort to identify with leaders and people who have proven their mettle over time in giving back to society.
According to the young monarch of the student body of all Igbo students, we started hearing about the name Dansuki long before we entered the university, and his track records and achievements speak highly of him. He is truly a representative that is very detribalized. His activities cut across the length and breadth of the state. If a representative could touch lives in this manner even outside his constituency, it shows his credibility and one who has the interest of the people at heart.
I have listened to him on a few occasions and he is the very few that will tell you to go and verify just like HE, Mr. Peter Obi. I have seen transformers credited to him, water projects, solar street lights, and several others projects touching on people. He also has to his credit several employments he has given his people in his constituency and outside his constituency in the federal civil service.
The Igwe used the opportunity to declare total support for Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo on his senatorial ambition. "I want to assure you that the Nigerian students in the University of Calabar of the Igbo extraction are under my watch as the Igwe has seen your activities as concerns giving hope to the masses and bringing democratic dividends to the people. He truly has a large heart and these are the kind of leaders we yearn for, to this end, we are giving him 100% of our votes.
On behalf of the senatorial candidate of the Labour Party for Cross River South, Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo, the DG, of Operation, Prince Paul Effiong thanked the monarch for his heart-piercing appraisal. "I will convey your message and commitment to the incoming senator of Cross River South in 2023. As a royal father in your own right, your words are powerful and they always make a difference everywhere. This is a victory pronouncement and we are truly honoured by this declaration.
The high point of the event was the prayers offered by the Igwe in favour of the campaign organization and the Peter Obi Campaign Team that will be visiting the state in the coming days.
