Hold me responsible, Peter Obi Tells Nigerians

Undie Mary | 22nd December 2022

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi has called on Nigerians to hold him responsible should his government fail to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians when voted into office.

Obi who was addressing a teeming crowd of Obidients and members of the Labour party in Calabar, Cross River state capital city at the U.J. Esuene stadium promised to restore the lost tourism glory of the State.

"Cross River State is the Tourism capital of Nigeria, we will revamp it. We will make it work. It's a land of prosperity. It will work under us, the federal government will work with the state government to make work." He said.

The former Anambra state governor said when voted into office, police brutality, incessant industrial actions by University lecturers will all be a thing of the past. He noted that the huge landmass of the state will be used to plant cash crops like cocoa which he said will be processed in the state and exported via the calabar port.

Also speaking during the rally, the National President of the party, Mr Julius Abure,
Abure said that poor choices of leadership contributed largely to Nigeria's development problem. He therefore appealed to Nigerians to make the right choice in 2023 by voting for the party's candidates at all levels.

While addressing the crowd, Aisha Yusuf, a foremost activist and cofounder of the #Bringbackourgirls initiative called on Nigerians to protest for a better Nigeria with their PVC at the ballot. She noted that the 2023 presidential election is an election for survival, it isn't the usual election known by Nigerians. She, therefore, called on Nigerians to ensure they cast their votes for the labour party as the present and previous governments had failed Nigerians.
