Labour Party Candidate Trains over 2000 On Skill Acquisition In Odukpani

The labour Party Candidate House of Assembly for Odukpani state constituency, Hon. Etim Umo,  has embarked on a three month free skill and entrepreneurship development training for over two thousand young people in Odukpani and it's environs. 


Hon Etim Umo, who seeks to represent the Local Government at the State House of Assembly said the initiative is  part of an effort  to empower them to be self-reliant and reduce over dependence on Government for white collar jobs.


According to Etim, the initiative is not a grassroot campaign strategy, but  that the initiative was also a demonstration of the Party's mandate of moving Nigeria from consumption to production for enhanced socio-economic wellbeing of the citizenry.


The intending state lawmaker, told TDN that the training is not for selected party members but it cut across party lines as it is not politically motivated. He further informed that this is not the first time he is embarking on such trainings. Even when he wasn't contesting for any office, he had always been reaching out to young people in various ways especially skill acquisition. 

"The skills acquisition training that focuses on training people regardless of your party lines as long as you are a son of Odukpani, or you stay in Odukpani come out and learn.

"I sponsored it, but I am not the convener we will  teach people how to make cloths, make bags, shoes, bags, cakes, decorations,  among others.

"I have been doing this even before vefying for political office, so I am not doing it for any political reason but to demonstrate and show love to our beloved people and by Gods Grace if I emerge definitely I will do more." The House of Assembly hopeful said. 


Also speaking the convener, and Aspirants of the party for the chairman of the Local Government, Offiong Ikpembe, urge the participants to take the training Seriously, as well as promising to reward deserving individuals who will distinguish themselves.


















"We don't want money, please it is free. All we need is your cooperation. This training is going to help you earn something for ourselves and families. Cooperate and do whatever you ask to do. At the end of this training there will be a reward for Students, each student will showcase whatever they have done. 

"Again it is free and for all of you here, ensure you learn we will do it across the blogs Eburutu, and up to even Iboku blogs". He said 

The program commenced on Friday 20th January 2022 and is expected to be held thrice in a week Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays respectively.
