The legislative hopeful for the Odukpani state constituency under the platform of the Labour Party, Hon. Etim Umo has reiterated his commitment to ensuring the good people of Odukpani Local Government Areas enjoy a people-oriented representation.
Umo who spoke exclusively with TDN in a telephone conversation said with his legislative background as a former lawmaker at the local government level, he will ensure using his wealth of legislative experience basic amenities are sited in Odukpani as government projects. Stating through lobbying and effective legislation he will ensure the people's needs are captured in the state budget.
The grassroots politician lamented the lack of basic infrastructure such as a financial institution, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination centre etc are not situated in a Local government like Odukpani which is the closest to the metropolis.
He noted that most of the communities in Odukpani lack good water supply and access roads to bring out their farm produce for sale. While stating that some school and health centre buildings are dilapidated and not befitting to accommodate human beings.
The former lawmaker informed that there are several bills he will present that will turn around the fortunes of communities and hard-to-reach areas as well as transform the local government structures.
