CALABAR –The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State Council, has applauded the emergence of Engr. Ben Akak as Deputy National Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing his rise as a testament to years of dedication, loyalty, and impactful political engagement.

In a statement issued shortly after the party's just-concluded national convention, the Council commended Akak for his steady progression from state-level politics to a strategic national position within the ruling party. The NUJ noted that his elevation reflects not only personal merit but also the growing relevance of Cross River State in national political affairs.

According to the statement signed by the Council Chairman, Archibong Bassey, and Vice Chairman, Sunny Inah, Akak has consistently demonstrated capacity, discipline, and commitment in every responsibility entrusted to him over the years. The Council emphasized that his track record in public service and party administration positions him well to deliver effectively in his new role.

"Engr. Ben Akak's emergence is well-deserved and indicative of his unwavering loyalty to the party and his competence in handling responsibilities. His rise from grassroots political involvement to the national stage is both inspiring and commendable," the statement read.

The NUJ further expressed confidence that Akak would bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the financial management structure of the APC, while contributing meaningfully to the party's broader national objectives.
