CALABAR – The Delivery Vehicle Owners and Drivers Association of Nigeria (DELVAN) has congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, on their three years in office, describing the administration as purposeful, people-oriented, and impactful.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Executive National President of DELVAN, High Chief Comr. Rap Raphael Sabbastine, the association commended the Otu-led administration for policies and initiatives that have positively impacted transport operators and businesses across the state.
The association particularly praised the government’s efforts in improving road infrastructure, enhancing security, and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
According to DELVAN, one of the administration’s most significant achievements was the harmonization of the tax system in the state, which it said has eliminated the burden of multiple and illegal taxation previously faced by transport operators and business owners.
“We particularly express our profound appreciation for Your Excellency’s bold initiative in harmonizing the tax system in the state, thereby eliminating the burden of multiple and illegal taxation which had long posed serious challenges to business operators and transport stakeholders,” the statement read.
The transport body noted that the reform has greatly improved the ease of doing business in Cross River State while restoring confidence in government policies among operators in the transport sector.
DELVAN further stated that Governor Otu’s administration has continued to demonstrate commitment to sustainable development and economic growth through practical governance and strategic interventions.
“As the leading and largest transport association in Nigeria, DELVAN proudly celebrates this remarkable milestone of unshakable achievements recorded under your administration,” the association added.
The group also reaffirmed its loyalty and support to the administration, expressing confidence in the governor’s capacity to continue delivering purposeful leadership for the benefit of Cross Riverians.
Governor Otu and his deputy marked their third anniversary in office on May 29, 2026, amid growing commendations from political leaders, organizations, and stakeholders across different sectors for what many describe as steady progress under the “People First” agenda.
