Various Support groups of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River State, led by Comrade Odung Micheal on Thursday stormed the party secretariat to demand the immediate suspension of Senator John Owan Enoh from the APC.

Carrying various placards with the inscriptions such as "Suspend Owan Enoh now" "My vote is for prince" etc, The group alleged that senator John Owan Enoh is into  "An anti-party activities." They alleged his secretly supporting of Senator Sandy Onor the gubernatorial aspirant of the People's Democratic Party".

It also noted that Senator John Owan Enoh after losing the primaries, had headed to court, to challenge the party's decision, which according to them could jeopardize their chances of emerging victorious at the gubernatorial elections in 2023.

It said " Our attention has been drawn to the appeal of Sen. John Owan Enoh seeking the court of appeal to mandate INEC to delist Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and enlist him as the rightful gubernatorial flag bearer of the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections.

" We are forced to believe that Sen Owan Enoh is hiding under the guise of seeking court redress to carry out anti-party activities in support of his kinsman sen Sandy Onoh, who is the flag bearer of the People's Democratic Party.

"The party should not be quiet by sweeping this issue under the carpet which has the capacity of whittling down her chances of a smooth victory in the coming general elections. This appeal is provocative and breaks every single rule of cohesion the party has maintained and known for overtime."

Recall that TDN had reported that  Senator Owan -Enoh who scored 84 votes, as against Prince Otu who scored  811 votes, in the  May 26th APC primaries in the States, on June 8, 2022, had filed an originating summons with the APC, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and Senator Otu as the first, second, and third defendants respectively where he argued  among other other things that Senator Otu was not properly cleared to participate in the primaries.

But on October 24th, the Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross State, in Suit No: FHC/CS/106/2022,  presided over by Justice Ijeoma  declared Senator Bassey Edet Otu as the duly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the State for the 2023 elections.

Ijeoma Ojukwu,  held that the plaintiff, Senator John Owan Enoh, had failed to prove his case.

In a seven-paragraph affidavit submitted by the plaintiff, Justice Ojukwu stated that the allegation lacked evidence, hence  forgery could not be established.

Sen. John Owan -Enoh having failed to secure a favourable judgment from the lower court in Calabar last month is said to have secretly appealed the judgement of the high court.
